The User Group Atmospheric Pressure Plasma (ak-adp) is calling on representatives from industry, colleges and universities, and research institutions to take a look at the future of atmospheric plasmas.
In an open competition, we are looking for ideas or concrete concepts on how the technology can be applied in the future. The best contributions will then be presented at the 38th ak-adp in Bamberg.
Submit your paper by November 25, 2020, and take advantage of this opportunity to share your work with a broad audience and open it up for discussion.

Exchange of information and lively discussions on a wide range of topics under the motto "Atmospheric Plasmas - Effective Tool from A(ctivation) to Z(uccess Technology)" were the focus of the first workshop of the Atmospheric Pressure Plasma User Group after the Corona Lockdown.

In compliance with the hygiene concept, 30 participants took the opportunity to learn about new developments and applications of surface functionalization by activation and coating, precision shaping and the effective combination of atmospheric plasmas with other technologies. New tools for surface analysis and new plasma sources were also presented.

What lasts long finally becomes good...

Today, after a long wait, the 36th ak-adp workshop finally begins. We are happy that the event can take place in Wittenberg as planned.

The venue remains the LEUCOREA as announced. The LEUCOREA's competent staff will ensure that the event space is set up in accordance with the applicable hygiene regulations and clearance rules. The hotels have also reopened. So nothing stands in the way of the 36th ak-adp workshop!

However, there is a small drop of bitterness: we will do without the joint evening regulars' table in consideration of the Corona restrictions. Here, conversations in a small circle with other workshop participants can be planned individually. The guided tour through Wittenberg will take place as planned.

On 21.11.2019, the 35th Ak-adp workshop in Nuremberg came to an end. 56 participants were able to learn about the latest findings and applications of atmospheric pressure plasma for adhesion improvement. There were 12 speakers from industry and research.

The technical presentations focused on the following main topics:

• Plasma treatment of polymer powder
• Flat plasma treatment of flat glass
• Coating of textile thread materials
• Composite layers with non-stick effect
• Atmospheric plasmas for the pretreatment of plastics and films
• Adhesive bonding in electronics and battery applications, power engineering and medicine
• Multiprobe testing of adhesive strength
• Flaming: application examples for different materials
• new plasma system technology with application examples

In the evening of the first day, as usual, a cultural program was offered. This time the participants could learn something about the history of the city of Nuremberg and its sausages during a guided tour. Afterwards the traditional regulars' table took place, here many contacts were made and knowledge was exchanged.

The technology special on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Anwenderkreis Atmosphärendruckplasma (ak-adp) comprises 23 technical papers on plasmas at atmospheric pressure and provides a broad overview of current work. The focus is on fundamentals, analytical methods, technical applications and research activities in current scientific work, industrial applications and medical studies.

In 2019, ak-adp celebrates its 10th anniversary. On this occasion, in November, in connection with the 35th workshop, a Anniversaryspublication of ak-adp as a technology special on atmospheric plasmas.

Basic principles, analytical methods, technical applications and research activities in top current scientific papers, industrial applications and medical studies are presented in 28 papers.
